The FSE3D consists of three identical, active broadband dipoles which are aligned perpendicularly to each other. A shielded unit follows, containing the switching and amplifier circuitry, which is directly connected to the N-male output and fed by the Binder-connector with power supply and logic signals to select the desired dipole. The pin assignment is ready for operation with the popular handheld spectrum analyzers FSH 3/6 and FSH 4/8 from Rohde & Schwarz. A RF transparent radome cover protects the FSE3D from dust and moisture. Because of its lightweight construction the FSE3D can be directly mounted to the spectrum analyzer. Alternatively the FSE3D can be held manually at its 50 mm shaft (sweeping method) or attached to a mast or tripod using the 22 mm tube (rotation method or raster method).
