The Balun (Balanced to Unbalanced Transformer) SY 9223-PLC was designed for measurements acc. to EN 50065-2-1. The balun transformer offers galvanic isolation of the symmetrical and the unsymmetrical ports with a transformation ratio of 1:1. It can be used for both, immunity and emission testing of mains signaling devices.

Never connect the SY 9223-PLC to 230 V AC mains directly. Always use isolation capacitors if connecting to mains. A suitable device would be IM 9223-PLC.

To measure radio frequency on the power-supply line an EMI-receiver or spectrum analyzer can be connected to the SY 9223-PLC instead of a signal generator. To protect the instruments against pulses or very strong signals, it is strongly recommended to connect an attenuator or pulse limiter between the measurement device and the SY 9223 PLC. VTSD 9561 D would be a suitable pulse limiter.
