The transmit loop antenna HFRA 5157 was designed to generate well-defined magnetic fields with moderate field strength levels (< 0.1 A/m) in the frequency range up to 30 MHz. With slightly reduced performance, the loop can be used in the frequency range up to 50 MHz. The loop, consisting of two turns, is shielded against E-fields. The nickel-plated brass housing contains a series resistor, acting as an impedance socket for the loop inductance. The series resistor reduces the influence of the loop inductance, allowing direct connection to widely used 50 Ω measurement equipment and providing a nearly flat frequency response over the entire frequency range. The loop can be mounted using its large (3/8″) female camera thread.
