The HFRAE 5163 loop antenna for magnetic fields is designed to measure medium to high-level field strengths in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 400 MHz in combination with 50 Ω measuring instruments. The loop is shielded against electrical fields, and thanks to its passive design, very high field strengths can be measured without compression or intermodulation effects caused by the probe.
The HFRAE 5163 is designed to obtain maximum output voltages of 1 V (=120 dBµV) across 50 Ω when exposed to the highest limits for radiated immunity tests, such as those in VG 95373-13 and VG 95373-23. It is also well suited to measure the protection limits according to IEEE C.95.1-1999 and IEEE C.95.1-2005, ICNIRP, FCC 96-236, TKZulV, BImSch, BEMFV, VDE 0848, and many other standards.
The antenna factor is nearly constant around 25 dB/Ωm in the frequency range from 1 MHz to 400 MHz. From 9 kHz to approximately 100 kHz, the antenna factor decreases by 20 dB per frequency decade.
