A tuned Half-Wave Dipole Antenna is considered a reference for measuring field strength and generating defined VHF electromagnetic fields (up to 10 watts ERP). The VHA 9103’s main application is for emission measurement in EMC tests. Its high degree of symmetry, accurate calibration data, outstanding workmanship, and low losses make the VHA 9103 a leading balun in the antenna market. Like most Schwarzbeck antennas, the VHA 9103 is mounted on its 22 mm tube with an indexing ring for horizontal and vertical polarization, e.g., when inserted into the movable antenna holding box of the detachable mast system model AM 9104 for antenna heights from 0.4 to 4 m.
At the rear end of the VHA 9103, a high-quality female N-connector provides contact to the 10 m long coaxial antenna cable AK 9513. The cable loss is documented for correcting field-strength or ERP calculations. The half-wave dipole UHA 9105 can be regarded as the frequency extension of the VHA in the upper frequency range (300-1000 MHz).
